KC SEEN: HEAD FOR THE CURE 5K
Runners raced to Corporate Woods for the Head for the Cure 5K, which raised a record-breaking sum.
The Head for the Cure 5K on Aug. 23 at Corporate Woods resulted in a record-breaking day. More than $475,000 was raised for brain cancer research, eclipsing the 2014 total of $430,000. The 13th annual event was attended by more than 5,000, including running and walking teams with as many as 255 participants. Head for the Cure 5K events are now conducted in 17 markets from Seattle to New York City, all of which raise awareness and funding for brain cancer patients, their families, friends, caregivers and other supporters in memory of Kansas Citian Chris Anthony.
