Honoring Little Owl’s Memory

Head for the Cure Steps Up

Head for the Cure has always supported all brain tumor patients and caregivers, no matter the circumstance, but we knew more could be done in our dedication to supporting the youngest fighters and thrivers.

As 2021 came to a close, we committed to focusing more of our time, energy, and funds raised in the fight against pediatric brain cancer. This includes expanding the resources available on Brains for the Cure Thanks to the generous support of our donors, Children’s Mercy Hospital (Kansas City, MO) was presented with a $50,000 grant in March 2022! These funds will support their Brain Cancer Research Fund and Brain Cancer Patient Assistance.

This is only the beginning of our partnership with Children’s Mercy and the first step of many for our pediatric initiatives.

Partnering in World-Class Care & Groundbreaking Research

“With a generous contribution of $50,000 from Head for the Cure, Children’s Mercy can make critical advancements in brain tumor research while supporting patients, like Norah, and their families in the hospital. With the help of community leaders like Head for the Cure, we can make great strides in finding answers, new treatments, and ultimately, cures for children and families everywhere.” – Kate Migneron, Director, Philanthropic Giving

Honoring Little Owl’s Memory

We were so thankful and proud to have Kelly and Kyle Fisher join us for the check presentation on March 21st. On that day nine years ago, Allie suffered from a seizure and was brought to the Children’s Mercy ER. The Fishers credit Children’s Mercy for saving her that day, and because of them, they were able to have three extra months with her. The Fishers have remained devoted to carrying on Allie’s legacy and have been fierce advocates for Head for the Cure, supporting the pediatric brain tumor community.
