Meet Dr. James Snyder – Hermelin Brain Tumor Center at Henry Ford Health System

Get to know the Hermelin Brain Tumor Center team at Henry Ford Health System who is dedicated to supporting Head for the Cure’s mission! Dr. James Snyder and the rest of the teamwork day in and day out to make a difference in the fight against brain cancer and find a cure for this rare and terrible disease!

Dr. Snyder completed his undergraduate and medical education at Michigan State University. He then completed an internship at Detroit Medical Center Huron Valley Hospital, followed by neurology residency training through Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital. He completed his neuro-oncology fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit in 2016, and is a member of the American Brain Tumor Association, Clinical Trials.gov, Collaborative Ependymoma Research Network, National Brain Tumor Foundation & the National Cancer Institute.

In his own words, “My number one priority is to be the best possible advocate for my patients. I pride myself to provide the highest level of care that aligns with their individual needs.”

His research interests include addressing access to care disparities in healthcare, finding better treatments for neuro-oncologic conditions through clinical trials, and bringing new technology into healthcare delivery. He participates in the bioinformatics lab at the Hermelin Brain Tumor Center and is a member of the radionics research group.
