Thank you, Central Texas!

On behalf of the Head for the Cure Foundation, thank you for helping make the 3rd annual Head for the Cure 5K Run/Walk – Central Texas such a great and successful event!  What a great way to kick-off our events for 2015!

It was a beautiful spring morning for the 5K run/walk and the celebration of hope for brain cancer patients and their families, friends and supporters. There were over 1,250 runners, walkers, volunteers, sponsors and well wishers — many participating on one of the 64 Head for the Cure teams supporting a loved one affected by brain cancer.

Congratulations to the overall winners — overall male Alex Moore, overall female Hannah Lewis, master’s male Todd Reed, master’s female Debbie Harkness— and everyone who participated. Your race results are available here. Also, we hope all participants enjoyed the new finisher’s medal and newly designed HFTC event t-shirt.

Three extraordinary people were recognized as Keeping the Faith recipientsPlease read their amazing stories and see why they represent the essence of Head for the Cure. Their stories are personal and special, and inspiring. And they illustrate why we keep pushing to grow our cause every year — to raise awareness and funding in the fight against brain cancer.

Congratulations to Hillary’s 50 Shades of Grey, our Largest Team with over 100 team members and also our winner for Top Team Fundraiser, raising over $15,800! And we would also like to honor Chris Belden, our top individual fundraiser with over $5,000! Thank you all so much for all of your fundraising efforts and your commitment to Head for the Cure!

The Head for the Cure Foundation extends our most sincere appreciation to each and every person who helped make our 3rd annual event so successful. More than $165,000 was raised from the event and there is still time to raise more! Donations will be accepted for another 60 days, so ask your friends and family to help support this great cause and help us raise more funds for brain cancer research!

We value your feedback, and ask that you take a few minutes to complete this short survey about the event. Our participants and teams are what make our event so special, and we want to make sure to include your thoughts as we begin to prepare for next year’s event!
