Thank You, Kansas City!

Head for the Cure Supporter,

On behalf of the Head for the Cure Foundation Board of Directors, the HFTC staff, volunteers, sponsors, donors and the brain cancer population who inspire us every day, thank you for helping make the 14th annual  Metro KC Head for the Cure 5K Run/Walk a truly great day!

It was a beautiful summer morning for our signature Head for the Cure 5K, and an unforgettable celebration of hope and optimism for brain cancer patients, their families, friends and supporters!

We welcomed more than 5000 runners, walkers, volunteers, donors, sponsors and well wishers — most participating with one of the 209 Head for the Cure teams supporting a loved one affected by brain cancer, or participating in memory of a loved one.

A special thank you to our partner, the University of Kansas Cancer Center, for their unwavering support. And, of course, thank you to all participants, donors, supporters and volunteers.  Without you, Head for the Cure would not exist and continue to grow. We are so appreciative of each and every one of you!

What’s more, and while we are still counting, our 14th annual Metro KC event has exceeded $475,000 raised! These results are very exciting – and we appreciate your help so much. Help us reach our milestone goal of $500,000!  We only need $25,000 to get here!

Keeping the Faith Honorees: We were so honored to recognize six extraordinary people – Myron Blackwell, Parker Monhollon, Olivia Patzke, Mackenna Berg, Tara Beller, and Rhonda Defreece as Keeping the Faith honorees. View their stories HERE. These inspiring people are the essence of Head for the Cure.  Each story is personal and special, and they represent why we keep pushing to grow our cause every year in the fight to defeat brain cancer.
