On behalf of everyone at the Head for the Cure Foundation, thank you for helping make the 3rd annual NC Triangle Head for the Cure 5K Run/Walk a true success!
It was a perfect April morning in Cary for our signature Head for the Cure 5K, and an unforgettable celebration of hope and optimism for the brain cancer community — including patients, their families, friends and other supporters!
With your help, we welcomed more than 250 runners, walkers, volunteers, donors, sponsors and well wishers — most participating with one of the 20 Head for the Cure teams supporting a loved one affected by brain cancer.
Thank you to all of our incredible volunteers. Your efforts throughout planning, and especially on event day, resulted in an extraordinarily successful Head for the Cure 5K event. We also want to send along our appreciation to the entire team at the UNC Department of Neurosurgery for their support, especially Dr. Simon Khagi, Peggy Felix, and Casey Alicen Hribar.
What’s more, and while we are still counting, our 3rd annual NC Triangle event has grossed nearly $18,000! These results are very exciting, yet the need is so great that our work doesn’t stop with the conclusion of each Head for the Cure event. Help us surpass our goal of $20,000! Each story is personal and special, and represents why we keep pushing to grow our cause every year in the fight to defeat brain cancer.
