Thank you Seattle

On behalf of the Head for the Cure Foundation, thank you for helping make the 1st annual Head for the Cure 5K Run & Walk – Seattle a wildly successful event!

It was a beautiful morning for the 5K run/walk and the celebration of hope for brain cancer patients and their families, friends and supporters. There were over 450 runners, walkers, volunteers, sponsors and well wishers — many participating on one of the 37 Head for the Cure teams supporting a loved one affected by brain cancer.

Congratulations to the overall winners — overall female Jade Garrison, overall male Jeff Hunter, master’s female Stephanie Laboo, master’s male Manuel De Jesus— and everyone who participated. Your race results are available here

Two extraordinary people were recognized as Keeping the Faith recipientsThese people represent the essence of Head for the Cure. Each of their stories is personal and special, and all are inspiring. And they illustrate why we keep pushing to grow our cause every year — to raise awareness and funding in the fight against brain cancer.

The Head for the Cure Foundation extends our most sincere appreciation to each and every person who helped make the 1st annual event so successful. More than $50,000 was raised from the event, but there is still time to raise even more! Donations will be accepted for another 60 days on our Seattle page or you may send a donation to our office in Kansas City (2020 Baltimore, Suite 201 Kansas City, MO  64108). Please help spread the word!

We value your feedback, and ask that you take a few minutes to complete this short survey about the run & walk. Our participants and teams are what make our event so special, and we want to make sure to include your thoughts as we begin to prepare for next year’s event!

If you are interested in being a part of our 2015 Seattle 5K planning team then please e-mail Molly Walsh at molly@headforthecure.org

Thanks to the participation and support of hundreds of caring individuals, the hard work of volunteers and the generous contributions of dedicated sponsors and donors, together we are defeating brain cancer step by step.

Sincerely,

The Head for the Cure Foundation
