Fisher

Board Member - Controller at Edgehill Venture Partners, Caregiver

Kelly Fisher became involved with the Head for the Cure Foundation after her 3-year-old daughter, Allie “Little Owl” Fisher, died from brain cancer in 2013. Devastated and lost, Kelly and her husband, Kyle, formed Team Little Owl just weeks after Allie’s passing. Team Little Owl has been the largest team at the Head for the Cure since 2013 and most recently had 302 registered participants in 2019. Kelly feels very blessed to have so many people support her family in fighting brain cancer. The Head for the Cure Metro KC 5K is her favorite day of the year.

Kelly has also been active in other efforts to raise awareness and funds for pediatric brain cancer. She is a founding member of the Children’s Brain Tumor Family Foundation, a 501c3 organization. She is also a member of the family council at the Children’s Brain Tumor Project at Weill Cornell.

Kelly holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Kansas. Kelly was the Assistant Controller for a successful small business for many years. She is currently pursuing her Master of Accounting from the University of Kansas and expects to graduate in May 2020.

Kelly lives in Overland Park, KS. She loves spending time with her husband, Kyle, daughter, Evie, and their two rescue dogs. Kelly also enjoys reading, yoga, and playing board games.
