“Buckeyes for Brain Cancer was started by The James Division of Neuro-Oncology Clinic staff. Our team is made up of nurses, social workers, patients, friends and families. We are very passionate about caring for our patients and family members affected by brain cancer. Becoming members of the patients’ healthcare teams, has been like becoming a family member and we consider it an honor.  Personally I know that being a part of this journey has been not only humbling, but life-changing.   I am so fortunate to be able to care for this patient population and am honored to participate in fundraising efforts like Head for the Cure to help raise awareness and provide resources for such a special patient population.  Watching patients interact with their families outside of office visits allows me to feel even closer, and fills me with pride to see the support of the community.  My favorite part is being present to watch patients walk, run or ride over the finish line and feel the same sense of joy and accomplishment as they do,  and is what will keep bringing me back year after year.”
