Each year, teams participate in our annual Head for the Cure 5K – Omaha. Team Rokhed celebrates the life of Mike Thiessen, who passed away in July 2018. My family and I are racing for my father, Mike Thiessen, who passed away July 13th 2018 from a glioblastoma, we found he was was sick on June 12th, 2018. My dad was one of the strongest and kindest people I know. No matter how much pain he was in the entire way through he’d say it was okay, that God knew he could handle it. One of the last things he did on this planet was donate $600 to an orphanage in Haiti so they could finish building a greenhouse. We are walking so that one day we will have a cure so no one else has to lose someone they love to this horrible disease.
